Celebrations
Life’s celebrations are hallmarks of family history and often times, means of God’s grace. At Mount Lebanon, they are intimate occasions surrounded by love and bathed in God’s light. Whether it’s a wedding, a baptism or a funeral, Mount Lebanon offers a beautiful historic setting and thoughtful guidance as your family marks this important day.
The church sanctuary seats 125 people and the church hall can seat 100 at tables. We’d love to host your special day! We require that no food is allowed in the sanctuary, and that no alcoholic beverages, smoking, or gambling are permitted on the premises.
Baptisms
The sacrament of Baptism is always a precious occasion marking God’s work of healing and salvation. United Methodists affirm both infant and adult Baptism. Individuals or families who desire Baptism for themselves or their children should speak to the Pastor prior to setting any date. At least one of the parents of a child would need to be a practicing Christian. There is never a fee for God’s holy sacrament of Baptism.
Weddings
Mount Lebanon is pleased to offer a faith-based and intimate, historic setting for your wedding day. To get married at Mount Lebanon, please contact our Pastor at least six months in advance of your preferred wedding date, 302-652-8411. Premarital counseling is necessary to prepare the couple for the life-long commitment they are making; either sessions with the Pastor or with a professional therapist. At least one member of the couple needs to confess the Christian faith.
The Pastor and the couple work together to create a wedding service that is personal and meaningful. Typically, the church organist/pianist provides the music who will work with the couple to select music; additional or alternate music can generally be accommodated after approval by the Pastor. The church does not provide a wedding planner but the couple is welcome to bring their own. Rehearsal practice is included prior to wedding.
For wedding ceremony development, rehearsal, and ceremony itself, the pastor asks an honorarium of an amount between $200-400 based on what the couple can afford. Church musician fee is $150. Deposit of $100 required at time of date commitment. If you choose to do your Premarital Counseling with our Pastor, she charges an additional $200, which includes the Prepare-Enrich curriculum materials and 2 sessions of premarital counseling. All fees are due at rehearsal.
Funerals
We are honored to work with any family and funeral home during the time of their deep need. Memorial or funeral services are grounded in the Christian hope and assurance of resurrection and eternal life, and personalized to reflect the spirit of the deceased. The Pastor will help the family plan the service, and pastoral counseling is also available. The pastor typically charges a fee of $100-200, but depending on financial need, this may be waived. The church musician may be available (fee of $150.)
Meeting Room Rental
Those interested in using the hall for a special event or a room in the church on an ongoing basis should contact the church office for more details at 302-652-8411. Various rates apply dependent on frequency, size of room needed, etc.
