Local & National Ministries:

  • Angel Tree Ministry - Connects children with their parents who are in prison.  Parents apply to have their children receive gifts purchased by sponsors and given from the parents.  Each year, Mt. Lebanon supports 25 children with Christmas gifts of clothing and toys. We host a party for families in December and a barbecue in the summer. Learn More

  • Appalachian Service Project - Provides critical home repair for those in the economically distressed areas of Appalachia.  Mt. Lebanon sent its first work team to West Virginia this summer for a week-long mission experience. Volunteers work to make homes warmer, drier, and safer and along the way, share Jesus’ love for all. Learn More

Family Promise of Northern New Castle County – Provides housing and support for families as they move from home to home, a key time when they can become homeless.  Mt. Lebanon organizes dinner once per quarter for these families. Learn More

  • Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County - Recruits volunteers from faith organizations, schools and businesses to work with families who need decent and affordable housing.  Volunteers work on building sites to keep homes affordable for the families.  In the past, our church has hosted several student work crews from around the region. Learn More

  • Interfaith Thanksgiving Project - We participate with other local interfaith organizations to put together some 200 bags of Thanksgiving meal items each November. Those dinner bags are taken to local ministries for distribution to families in need. Mt. Lebanon collects food items Oct-Nov and hosts the distribution event on a rotating basis with other interfaith partner organizations. Check the events calendar for this year’s dates!

  • Native American Ministries – A United Methodist Conference mission that supports the continued work to reconcile and heal the broken relationships between Native and non-Native communities.  We frequently host Native American speakers during worship and learn about the history and current needs of Delaware’s Native American tribes. Learn More

  • Neighborhood House - A non-profit community center located in South Wilmington with a satellite office in Middletown.   Neighborhood House provides family services, youth development and housing programs. In addition to providing Thanksgiving baskets through the Interfaith Social Action Committee, Mt. Lebanon collects warm winter clothes for those in need. Learn More

  • Ronald McDonald House - A “home away from home” for seriously ill or injured children and their families to be together while they are receiving treatment at A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children. Mt. Lebanon hosts quarterly dinners (including a summertime barbecue!) for the families. Learn More

  • Souper Bowl - An annual churchwide effort to collect non-perishable foods for local food closets.

  • Sunday Breakfast Mission - A local shelter for the homeless, addicted, and impoverished that offers to meet their spiritual, social and physical needs.  Mt. Lebanon sends volunteers to help at this ministry.   Learn More

  • Urban Promise – A Christian based educational ministry for children, youth and families. Tutoring, school service opportunities, and support of yearly dinners and fundraisers are the core of our current work with this awesome ministry. Learn More

All of our missions events are fund-raising only, as many of the ministries that we support are have COVID-induced in-person restrictions. Specifically, we continue to provide money for dinners once per quarter for the residents of the Ronald McDonald House and Family Promise.

If you would like to donate to any of these ministries, please either mail a check to our church with the ministry name in the memo line, or use our Online Giving tab above at the top of the website.
